Baltimore offers numerous festivals and events, both indoor and outdoor, bringing many communities together. Various Baltimore neighborhoods host cultural festivals as well as events with a market-like feel, bragging great music and delicious food. Be sure to experience the city's many different events!

Local Events


ArtscapeArtscape is America's largest FREE arts festival, featuring 150+ fine artists, fashion designers and craftspeople; visual art exhibits on and off-site, including exhibitions, outdoor sculpture, art cars, photography and the Janet & Walter Sondheim Prize. Events during the festival include incredible live concerts on outdoor stages; a full schedule of performing arts including dance, opera, theater, film, experimental music and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra; family events such as hands-on projects, demonstrations, competitions, children's entertainers and street theater; and a delicious, international menu of food and beverages that is available throughout the festival site. Artscape is held in the Mount Royal Avenue & Cathedral Street, Charles Street, Bolton Hill, and Station North Arts & Entertainment District neighborhoods. Baltimore Running Festival

Baltimore Running FestivalThe Baltimore Running Festival is one of the most popular running events hosted in Charm City. With an event for runners of all abilities, the Running Festival offers a Kids Fun Run, 5K Race, Team Relay, Half Marathon and Full Marathon. With courses exploring the many neighborhoods and attractions of Baltimore, you will be sure the have a good time running down Ravens Walk to the finish line! Held the second Saturday in October each year, be sure to mark your calendars for 10/18//2014! If you are interested in running for a charity, consider supporting the University of Maryland Children's Heart Running Team led by Dr. Geoffrey Rosenthal, Director of the Children's Heart Program.

Baltimore Book Festival

Baltimore Book FestivalThe annual Baltimore Book Festival is held in Mt. Vernon featuring hundreds of author appearances and book signings, 100+ exhibitors and booksellers, non-stop readings on multiple stages, cooking demos by celebrity chefs, poetry readings and workshops, panel discussions, walking tours, storytellers and hands-on projects for kids, street theater, live music, and a delicious variety of food, beer and wine. Held in September, be sure to keep an eye out for information about next year's event.

Fell's Point Fun Festival

Fells Point Fun FestivalThe Fell's Point Fun Festival began as a small neighborhood festival 47 years ago and the Preservation Society continues this event celebrating the 18th and 19th century character of the historic structures within Fells Point. Thousands of people attend the Fell’s Point Festival each year, varying from families with children to adults young at heart. Participants come to enjoy live music, beer and wine gardens, and to shop unique arts, crafts, photography and antiques that you can only find at a festival of this size! Don't miss out on the fun of this three day weekend long event each fall!

Maryland Film Festival

Maryland Film FestivalThe Maryland Film Festival is an annual five-day event that takes place in early May, presenting top-notch film and video work from all over the world. Each year the festival screens both feature films short films of all varieties -- narrative, documentary, animation, experimental, and hybrid -- to tens of thousands of audience members. In addition to a wide range of contemporary North American films, each festival also includes a sampling of international features, a vintage silent film with live musical accompaniment, a classic 3-D film, and a feature selected and hosted by legendary filmmaker John Waters. Don't miss out on these unique screenings!

OctoBEARfest at the Maryland Zoo

OctobearfestThe Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is hosting "OktoBEARfest," a Fall beer festival to in conjunction with Baltimore Beer Week. This afternoon event is held at the Zoo’s Waterfowl Lake Pavilion area and features a host of seasonal ales, Oktoberfest inspired foods and live music. Music performances are held at the Waterfowl Lake featuring an energetic Polka band from Eastern Pennsylvania at the 2013 event. Tickets range from $12-$50 and each includes unlimited sampling, a commemorative event glass (for those 21 and over), admission to the Zoo, and access to food and artisan vendors.
